Weddings at Friends Center

Picture your wedding ceremony in the quiet dignity of our historic Quaker meetinghouse.

The rich woodwork and plain, unadorned walls allow you to do your wedding your style:  traditional, contemporary, informal, or with an eye to simplicity and environmental sustainability.

Since our space is without theological symbols, it is a congenial setting whatever your religious tradition and an excellent location for interfaith weddings.  We welcome and support same gender weddings which have been held in our meetinghouse for over 20 years.

The meetinghouse can comfortably accommodate and intimate ceremony with fewer than 100 guests or a large wedding of 500 or more.

Hold Your Reception in Our Courtyard Garden or in Cherry Street Room

Friends Center’s facilities can accommodate your reception either outdoors under the trees in our enclosed courtyard or indoors in the flexible Cherry Street Room.  If you plan for an outdoor reception, we hold the Cherry Street Room in reserve in case of inclement weather.

Our preferred caterers can provide a full service reception with menus and décor to fit your tastes and your budget.  Or you can use our kitchen for a simple self-catered or potluck reception.  We can accommodate approximately 250 for a stand-up hors d’oeuvres buffet or 150 for a sit-down meal.

To provide a welcoming environment for all guests, alcohol and smoking are not permitted at Friends Center.
