Picture your wedding ceremony in the quiet dignity of our historic Quaker meetinghouse.
For your once in a lifetime wedding, consider the simple beauty of Race Street Meetinghouse. Ideal for couples looking for a unique venue or those seeking a traditional setting for a non-traditional ceremony, our rooms can be transformed into your very own wedding wonderland. Whether you’re hosting your closest family and friends or accommodating 500, this National Historic Landmark provides the perfect setting.
Since our space is without theological symbols, it is a congenial setting whatever your religious tradition and an excellent location for interfaith weddings. We welcome and support same gender weddings which have been held in our meetinghouse for over 20 years.
Hold Your Reception in Our Courtyard Garden or in Cherry Street Room
After your nuptials, guests can proceed to our enclosed garden courtyard or into the picturesque Cherry Street Room.
Our preferred caterers can provide a full service reception with menus and décor to fit your tastes and budget. Or you can use our kitchen for a simple self-catered or potluck reception. We can accommodate approximately 250 for a stand-up hors d’oeuvres buffet or 150 for a sit-down meal. Please see Catering for more information.
Located just outside the Meetinghouse, the Courtyard Garden, brings together the simple beauty of nature and the historic architecture of Center City Philadelphia. Guests can mingle and dine under the canopy of our tree-lined courtyard. With dining for 150, and a total capacity of 300, this delightful space is ideal for a reception or hors d’oeuvres.
